Dean Nevolis: Electric/Acoustic guitars, Bass and Vocals.
Dean has been playing guitar professionally for 20 years, he is a active musician and experienced recording artist. Dean is currently lead guitarist for The Defending Champions and Fruitbodies. Previous bands include The Miasmics, The Voicecracks, Old Wives, Secret Islands, Mouthbreath and Tall Days. You might also catch him playing bass w/ They Live from time to time.
Eric Swiontkowski (aka Swini): Bass guitar & Vocals.
Eric has been playing bass for 20 years and is a graduate of Mason Gross music program, Rutgers University. Eric has been a private lessons instructor for years as well as a active musician in the tri-state area. Eric has recorded at HomeFront with artists and bands such as Catch Wild, Case Garret, and Rich Lehmann & The Claimants. His former bands include Catch Wild and Push Method. He is currently playing bass for The Defending Champions and Uncle Ebenezer.
Matt Schoenebaum (aka Shooby): Tenor/alto/soprano Sax, Clarinet, and Flute.
Matt (Shooby) is a Mason Gross Rutgers university graduate and a extraordinary multi-talented musician. He is our guy for all reed instruments and is a stand out soloist. Matt has been playing tenor sax in The Defending Champions for 10 years and has played with many other bands and musical projects. He is also a active Jazz musician and can be seen with his Jazz trio every Monday night a Halcyon in Montclair, NJ.
Jovan Alvarez: Trumpet
Jovan is a graduate of William Paterson’s music program and has been playing Trumpet in the tri-state area for over 15 years. He is the Trumpet player for The Defending Champions and plays with various other bands in the NJ area. He is a frequent horn session player at HomeFront studios and has recorded with various artists such as Case Garret, Rich Lehmann & The Claimaints, and The Porchistas.
Dave Deriso: Percussion & Drums
Dave has been playing percussion and drums in the NJ/NYC area for over 20 years. He has recorded with various artists throughout NJ & NYC. He is the percussionist for The Defending Champions and drummer for James Calleo and Matt Hartke. He has played with many bands in the past such as Travis Rocco, Hyphen One & Daylow, Catch Wild and many more!
Rob LaFalce
Rob LaFalce is a multi-talented musician who graduated from William Paterson University with a degree in Music Education and is a certified teacher in the state of NJ. Rob is a drummer, percussionist, keyboardist, and arranger with over 20 years experience as a studio musician and has played with multiple bands throughout the years such as The Miasmics, Steph White and the Philtharmonic, Power Hour, and has toured with The Toasters. Rob has been playing at HomeFront since we opened in 2008 and offers a wide array of talent to any session he is hired for.
